Something Warm

I’ve never been a fan of coffee. But like many, I do enjoy the smell of it.

Once it finally gets cold here in Texas I always wish I could just snuggle up with a good book and a nice cup of something warm. I’ve tried hot chocolate, I can’t stand the smell of it nor do I like marshmallows (unless its a rice crispy treat). And even though I enjoy the smell of coffee, I just don’t like it. So now I’m left without a drink to enjoy during the winter.

Except wait!! There is tea.

Now I like sweet things, and tea is very bitter so I’m trying to find more ways to make tea more…acceptable. I enjoy a cup of raspberry tea as long as I dump a whole lot of sugar in it. Side note- How cute is this tea pot and tea cup? Too cute. My mom gave me this white tea pot and I adore it. The cup is my younger sister’s, she bought it from F.i.t. Its heart shaped and since its white I thought it would match the pot. And make for a cute picture. 😀 But I still haven’t found the right amount, sometimes I feel like I add too much and then the aftertaste isn’t very tasty. I’ve tried adding syrup and it sort of makes it somewhat yummy. But its still not the taste I’m looking for. What I really hope to find is a sweet tea that doesn’t need any added sugar. A tea that is already the right amount of sweet to satisfy my taste buds. But alas, I feel like my search will never end. Of course with Texas and its bipolar weather its not like I don’t have the time to discover this new tea. XD

So do you have any tips to make tea more sweet..besides adding loads of sugar to the pot? :9

Sometimes I add coffee creamer to my tea. French Vanilla and Hazelnut are great flavors, but there are about a million others available. I think it’s a lot better than loading on the sugar. You only need a dash of the creamer to sweeten the tea.

I wonder if they make coffee scented candles?

@Mija- Blech no I hate cocoa!!! >.< @Kristen- the creamer sounds like a good idea, I'll give it a try. 😀 And a coffee candle? That would be amazing. XD Thanks for reading and commenting.

Maybe try Chai Tea. I usually just add milk and don’t need much sugar because it’s a nice spiced tea.

I have a bit of a sweet tooth too! And am NOT a fan of coffee, but I love chamomile with a heap of honey in mixed in.
I drink it with honey in the mornings for a kick, and without at night to help me relax!
(and the cup is super cute, I am going to try to buy one for myself!)

What about eggnog latte? I love that! I have just bought some cinnamon flavoured tea too and am about to have a cup. I’ll let you know the verdict.

Ahh! How do you not like the smell of hot chocolate?!?!? That’s crazy!!!

I love the smell and taste of hot chocolate, and that’s usually all the wintry hot drink I need!

I hate tea for the most part, but I have tried on and off to get more into green tea since it’s supposed to be really good for you, and I noticed one thing that really helps is to add some honey to it, although I usually drink it sans the honey, as I’m subconsciously feeling the “sacrifice” means more health benefits for my body…somehow..lol

But anyway…I hate coffee too, but any time I have drank it, I’ve pretty much had to make it more like kool~aid – loads and loads of sugar! Also, drinks like cappuccino and lattes are usually great warming but sweet sweets for winter time (or any other time in the year), provided you have or find yourself near a machine that can provide it on a regular basis.

Update on the cinnamon tea – avoid it! Most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. What a let down! I was so excited too!!

@Audry- I know right? And thanks for reading and commenting. 🙂

@Nikki- Aww bummer, I’m sorry it didn’t taste good. But thanks for reading, commenting and for keeping me updated.

@Anani- hot chocolate just never appealed to me. I just never liked warm drinks. But the smell sort of makes me sick. >.< I tried some mint green tea, it was good. But I still had to add sugar, I think I will try adding honey next time. Thanks for reading and commenting.
