Digital Art

I tried my hand at coloring in my drawings in photoshop, pretty time consuming and they are still rough seeing as I have no idea what I’m doing. But I do feel like I progressed during each drawing so that’s encouraging, just have to continue practicing and watching youtube videos for techniques and whatnot.

colordoodle1 So here’s doodle #1, still doing the mint hair and meat buns! Eyes are not the same shape, I use my Wacom tablet thing but even with the pen it’s still pretty difficult to outline my sketch. I tried doing this with a different doodle but my lines kept coming out shaky and weird looking. I think this is a lot better than previous attempts and I’m excited to see what future attempts will look like.

Doodle #2 the eyes are the same, because duh, I’m in Photoshop…I can duplicate and flip things. Yay!!! In this one I focused more on the eyes and hair. Didn’t do the copy and flip thing with the actual glasses frame, I was lazy even though it would probably be quicker than trying to outline the second frame again. Why do they both have rosy checks? Well, why not? Ok, I do it because I like the pink and mint color combination and because it makes her look cute… and because I’m inspired by Fran.

Doodle #3- I sort of did 2 and 3 at the same time but finished this one up last. The eyes are a bit too far apart, it sort of makes her look like a bug. >.< But again, it’s a work in progress. I’m sure if I keep practicing I’ll look back at these and think, “what was I thinking?” Heh, just kidding, hopefully I’ll be positive and excited for improving. Of course I’m not very good at repeating drawings. So if I wanted to do a daily doodle of a cartoon me, she would look different every time. These three came out different because I actually intended it that way, but I’m pretty sure if I tried to duplicate either one of these, it wouldn’t happen. Plus, I have no idea how to handle different expressions yet. After I find the face, body will be next followed by scenes. Who knows?

So my birthday is in 2 months and I already know what I hope to get myself. This camera, it’s pretty pricey but if I start saving now, then I can have enough by September to get it…hopefully. I’m really bad at saving up money, I mean rent is a priority, but occasionally I go on dining out sprees. So bad!!!  But being a responsible adult means being disciplined, right? Oh, and did I mentioned I got a second job? That’s right! I interviewed for this craft store called Paper Source. My sister used to work there a while back so I think that helped my chances with the manager. I start on Thursday!!! I’m excited to have a full paycheck, I still work at the museum, but since I finished training I don’t get as many parties as I used to and I haven’t gotten any tips in a while. Makes me feel as though I’m not doing good enough. But I’m still in love with that job so I don’t intend to leave it any time soon. I sill get at least one party a weekend, and I don’t start classes until the 25th so I have plenty of weeks for my new job at Paper Source. Of course when classes start my hours will have to change but I’ll worry about that when the time comes. My only concern now, is getting to work on time, it’s not exactly far far…by car but traveling by bus will make things complicated I will have to make sure I leave early in order to make it on time. I’ll get the hang of it. Anyway, second job, will help with the whole saving up. I’ve been wanting a new camera that actually takes decent pictures and video and other bloggers, aka Fran, has recommended this camera. I will still look around before buying. I want something nice, but nothing too high tech and bulky. Something I can carry with me and not have too much additional weight on me. So if you have any suggestions, then by all means let me know, I’m still shopping around.

Ok, well I guess I should end this post now, need to go grocery shopping later today. Also, added this to Kellie’s Currently Creative Link Up post. If you’ve never done a link up before then this is one I suggest you enter. It’s a great way to find new bloggers.  🙂 Well that’s all for now…

Thanks for reading and commenting.

@Kellie Winnell, Thank you! I’m really excited, I’m already making a list of all the things I hope to buy from this store. Definitely in the mood to craft every time I enter this store.

drawing with tablet is really hard. it requires patience, which i don’t have haha
outlining the sketch is annoying though but i’ve found myself having it easier when i use SAI paint tool instead of photoshop. the other day i got final project assignment where i had to color and outlined stuff, i wouldn’t have finished everything if i had used PS

photoshop is great but it’s for people who are keen in digital painting haha i admire people who digital paint though… i’d rather code a layout than illustrate x_x and i prefer manual drawing since it’s faster

i see you’re aiming for the mirrorless canon 🙂 go for it! it’s a good starter camera 😀
i think it’s a good pick that you’re going for a mirrorless camera; it’s not as bulky as DSLRs but its features aren’t as limited as pocket / point and shoot camera so that canon eos m is good. i’m not a canon user/fan myself so i’m not really sure about it, however, nikon j1 is also pretty cool. other choices that flow along this line would be the sony nex line. personally, specification wise, i’m leaning more towards the sony or nikon so yeah.. it all depends on what features and specifications you need.

@Alice B, I have no idea how people manage to illustrate in photoshop, My little doodles are simple with no texture. And I don’t mind the outcome/simplicity of them, doodling has made me happy. XD

That’s good to know about the camera, I definitely want something that does more than a pocket camera but isn’t too high tech/bulky. One that has great picture and video quality.

Thanks for reading and commenting…and for the information. :3
