Harden Criminal

Monday started off like any other day. I had an early shift at Paper Source and I got out early. (I hate closing, so this was wonderful.) It wasn’t busy in the store either, I mostly checked in shipment and restocked things after crossing them off a list. And occasionally I’d help out with a customer. Oh, I was glued to the phone for most of my shift, which is annoying…I have terrible phone skills. Clocking out and heading to my car is one of the greatest feelings ever, but that day, not so much.

I was talking to my sister on the phone when  I noticed…my car wasn’t where I parked it. But let me give you some background on the parking system where I work. Ok, so parking is crap everywhere, but here people are so busy trying to get a spot in front of the stores that they ignore the huge garage that is always empty….oh and free! But, since I am an employee of a store, I am not allowed to park there. Employees have to park in this lot that is across the street near the train tracks in the most awkward and crazy location ever.  Oh and I need a sticker that I am still unsure where to get…all before my 10 a.m. shift tomorrow. :/ Anyway, going back to the horror….

I’m on the phone with my sister and I noticed my car was missing. Since getting my car….among all the horrible things that could happen, finding my car gone was definitely one of them. I noticed that the village security patrol cars were noticing me more often. I’ve had the car since mid October and have parking in the garage…very rebellious of me, since then. I didn’t think it would matter, seeing as it is always empty and there are plenty of spots for customers as well and frankly, I work 4 hour shifts the majority of the time I’m scheduled. I know, “But Kim, you knew you couldn’t park there.” Yes! I did, but it doesn’t make it suck any less. Plus, a couple of weeks ago, a car’s window was smashed in, where were the security guards then? Too busy getting employee’s cars towed, that’s where. -.- But again, I have no one to blame but myself. Let’s finish with my tale of woe.

So, my car had been towed. Surprisingly, I didn’t cry. I always cry when bad crap happens, but this time I think I was too angry to cry. Angry at myself, angry at the guards who watched me and waited like creepy stalkers, and angry at the fact that there are a ton of other employees from other shops who park in that garage and yet, they don’t get towed. I don’t know if that’s true.  I’m sure they do. Heat of the moment anger. So while I’m freaking out about my car not being there, my sister and bro in law come and get me while I figure out where the hell my car was taken. The security guard was rude when  I was finding out this information and the people at the towing company…if you can call it a company were also rude. It was like car prison. I had to stop at my bank to get out cash. 300 bucks to be exact. -.- This of course added to the crap that was that day, we made it to the prison however they would not release the car to me because my name isn’t on the insurance. It’s under my dad’s name, so I needed him to come and get it out.

DAD TO THE RESCUE.

LINEcamera_share_2015-01-27-23-25-56Not only did he make it in time, but he didn’t even get mad at me. He just said, things happen and not to let it happen again. I definitely don’t want this to EVER happen again. -.- It sucks, and a couple of weeks ago, someone parked in MY parking spot at my apartment complex. I could have had them towed but figured karma would get me, so I didn’t. -.- And then I get towed anyway, but again, I know, my fault. I’m just venting here, which I’m allowed to do.

A million other things could have happened, so I’m trying to think positive here. That’s what I said I would try to do this year, so I need to stick with it instead dwell on the crap that’s unfair. Life is unfair, right? But because of this experience it has helped inspired my Advertising project. Thanks Nina. <3  Kat and I had a mini cool down today. We both got out early and ran the errands I would have completed on Monday. She sure knows how to make me laugh. I can’t remember when she got so funny. 😛 I know the semester just started, but dealing with work and school, not easy. So when Kat and I can just have fun and not worry about work or school, it’s a good day.

Have you ever been towed before? Were you rebellious like me? Anyway, it’s late and I have to get up early in the morning. Have stickers to acquire and parking spaces to find. Must be positive though.  Until next time….

Thanks for reading and commenting.
