New Job: Details and Last Days
For the past 2 years I’ve been working part-time at the Science Museum as a Birthday Party Coordinator. It has been an amazing job and I’m so happy that I was a part of The Party Smarty Crew.
Along with my museum job, I also worked part-time at Paper Source, which is a stationery store. One of the best, in my opinion. Their motto is, “Create something every day.” Unlike other stationery stores, Paper Source’s focus was on helping people tackle their projects themselves.
I loved both of these jobs, and I loved all of my coworkers as well. I had a chance to work with the nicest people and I’m really gonna miss that. Gaining this new job meant I had to say goodbye toΒ both of my part-time jobs. I had intended on keeping my coordinator gig for the weekends however, my new job will prevent that.
I am now the Copywriter for the museum. A Copywriter! I have a title, in the membership department. And I can’t work for two departments so I had to hang up my Party Smarty hat. This past Saturday was my last day of parties. I had two Dino parties and I ended the day with a Butterfly one. They all went great and I will really miss the interaction I had with museum goers.
1st day was Tuesday:
I spent the day training on some data entry. I will never HAVE to do data entry, but my boss wanted me trained on it so I would know how to do it, just in case. It was tedious and I’m sort of glad I don’t have to do it all the time. My coworkers are nice and I hope to get along with everyone. We went to a food truck for lunch, a bonding experience if you will. π We ate at an International food truck with Mexican ,Greek, and Korean cuisine. I chose a Greek pita, wanted something small. Then for the remainder of my shift I just continued on with my training.
2nd day:
I spent the first hour or so training on some more data entry stuff, then my boss came in and we went over the items I would be writing copy for. Let’s just say, I felt overwhelmed but excited. I want to fast forward to the part where I already know who everyone is and where everything is located and exactly what I have to do. I just want to prove that hiring me wasn’t a mistake. I don’t just want to do well, I want to excel. I was given my own email, my own computer login/desk that I get to decorate. Which I will take a picture of once I do. π
I’m trying not to let my worries get to me, I’m hoping to just focus on learning how things are done and do my best. I will be positive!!! Thursday is my sister, Mija’s, birthday!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!! I won’t be able to see you tomorrow, but come saturday we will celebrate together!

I love Paper Source!! It’s such a great store.
And it’s great that you’re excited about your new job. Working is definitely a lot more enjoyable when you’re excited about what you’re doing. Also when you discover your coworkers are great, haha.

@Rezina, Paper Source is lovely and a million other things. I will also miss my employee discount. T-T However, I do love the paper and stamp products so I will end up splurging once in awhile.
I am excited, but also nervous. But I’m ready to tackle things, and I can’t wait to learn the ropes.
Thanks for reading and commenting!!!

Sounds very exciting! I like how dressed up you are β very cute. π A copywriting job is a challenging one, as I have heard from some of my coworkers, but if you love writing it is just something really enjoyable. Glad to hear you are getting settled in!

@Georgie, Thank you!!! π
I have fun with coordinating outfits and hair styles. >.< It will be, I enjoyed my copywriting class, but it was one of my hardest classes but it was the kind of challenge that I enjoyed. I just hope I'll be able to do great at this job.

Good luck with your new job! Your previous part time jobs seem really cool as well, too bad you had to give it up. Nice outfits. π
