~Monthly Moments: March~

I’m starting this new thing where I film moments during the month and then just piece it together in a montage style vlog. I did not film enough during the month of March but I decided to make one with the shots I did take. It’s really short but I think it’s nice and a great way to look back on the month. I’ve started off strong in April so far, here’s hoping I can keep up with and make the videos the way I imagine them.

~Book Haul~ Jan. to Feb.

Here’s my belated Jan/Feb book haul, it has been in the works for awhile now and I finally had time to film it. I had the camera zoomed in way too close, I usually like to have the bookcase framed differently. I dunno, I was off. But like Audrey mentioned in her Spring Break entry, I too think videos add a little something extra to the blog.

Anywho, here’s a list of the books I mentioned in the video!

What books have you recently purchased? Can you read more than one book, switching between them? I’m curious to know your book buying rules as well.

~Plan with Me~ A Week in March

Hello!

Here’s just a little planner video I made for this week, I switched the order around for some things but for the most part I stayed true to it. I have this whole vision on how I wish  my videos could come out, but they never turn out that way. I still have a lot of fun with my amateur videos though. I don’t make as much time to film and edit though. I still want to upgrade my camera and laptop but those will have to wait.

In this video I just wanted to show my Ink Joy Gel pens and the watercolor ish markers I used to decorate my weekly spread. I used to use stamps and stickers but I’m loving these leafy vines! I’ve been doodling them ALL over this place. Washi is still an obsession with me, I just thought I’d keep it simple. I think I might go with this style of planning for awhile. I’ve also been using a notebook to sort-of-bullet-journal a daily spread. I’ve been using it for the week and will finish up the pocket moleskine in June. I’ve already bought a new one to use when this one is done. I decided to get a larger notebook in the same color only with dotted lines. I also plan to give more pages for each day, leave space to journal more. But who knows, I might not need the extra space because it’s a larger scale notebook. I’ll touch base on the notebooks more next time. I have a list of pros and cons, as per usual.

Anyway, do you use a planner, daily, weekly, or monthly? I’d love to know how you stay organized. Also, if you dabble in making videos, I’d love to check your videos out so link your channels below! 🙂

~Oct.-Dec.~ Book Haul

It took me a while to finally finish editing this video but here it is! I sort of took a break from buying books during those months and wasn’t reading as much either. But hopefully, I’ll return to reading more books, I didn’t reach my goal of 50+ books in 2016 so now I’ll try again in 2017…haven’t gotten off to a great start but no sense in giving up. 😀

Here are the books I mentioned in the video:

Going to try to get back on a vlogging schedule and try to read more. I have a Book Outlet Haul coming up and I can’t wait! What books have you been reading lately?

~July Book Haul~

Here are the books I bought in the month of July, and I can tell you that I have made up for the lack of books in July jut in the first two weeks of August. But in July I just was taking it easy and trying to make time to read the books on my TBR.

I have three videos in the making and I’m hoping to make some time to get them filmed and edited, but I also have a few workshop possibilities that I need to work on….aside from my full time job. It’s all about balance, and as long as the other things don’t disturb my day job, then I’m good. But here’s hoping this outside stuff works out. I hope you’re doing well, what are you reading or what have you recently purchased?

My Morning Routine

Now that I have a full time job, scheduling all the things I want to do has been tricky. I miss having more time during the week, however, now that I have to schedule things like work and my hobbies it’s making me a better planner and less lazy.

Before, I’d put things off and think, I’ll eventually get to it. But now, I’m trying to make sure I get to it sooner rather than later. There are a few excuses that I use when I can’t though. Filming requires good lighting, and I use the sun still, I don’t have lighting equipment. But that’s something I’m considering more and more lately.

Blogging however, does not require much. It just requires me to sit at my computer and type of entires that I’d like to discuss.  For this entry,  I’d like to discuss my now typical morning routine.

I filmed a little vlog for it too. I had fun filming it but I couldn’t film certain parts, like walking into work. I’m sure I could have but I’m not yet comfortable with filming in public quite yet. Plus, the job is still new so I should still be on egg shells. But next time,  I might do like a weekly-Life blog. Film a bit every day and then combine it into one video at the end of the week. We shall see. It’s just an idea, I just like working on new videos and improving on my editing.

Other than that, work has been going well. I already have deadlines and projects to work on. I’m also working on  Mind-Speak projects as well.  It’s all about planning and making time for everything. Wish me luck. 🙂

How are you with planning out work and hobbies? Do you have any secrets?

~June Book Haul~

I present my June book haul!!! I have a total of 7 books this month and I read 4, so I think I’m doing pretty good. If I don’t enjoy the book then I get rid of it. I don’t see the need in forcing myself to read a book I’m not enjoying. I’m just trying to keep my book collection under control.

Here are the books I mentioned in the video:

Big things are happening and I’ll update about it as soon as I can, but for now know that I am extremely happy.

~Plan With Me~

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Wanted to film a Plan with Me video for this week. I added just a few things that I knew I had to do but obviously if more things occur I plan as the week goes on. For the most part, work is the only thing I can really plan ahead since  I know my work schedule by the end of the previous one. I have a few other videos planned for this week but didn’t think about it until after I filmed this video, so that’s why they aren’t there. Bare with me, I am terrible at planning out videos.

After I had written out the few things I knew would happen this week, I decided to make the end of the video just a montage of some planner supplies. Mainly, these Memento Dew Drop inks that I have fallen in love with. I’m a sucker for colorful things, and these are perfect for stamping my planner pages. Anyway, I’ve been thinking of some other videos to film and upload so stay tuned for some book and non-book related videos!

Love of My Life

Above is my May book haul, but I also want to focus on the new love of my life. Vera Rose Robertson, my first niece. I absolutely adore this little baby and I cannot get enough of that new baby smell. She is beyond precious and it’s still really surreal to have her here. Ever since my sister got married, I’ve thought about the day they would have children. But now that, that child is actually here, I can’t believe it.

I knew she would be adorable and I knew that I would love her with all of my heart. But I never stopped to think about how much.  I mean, it’s love, you don’t normally associate an amount with it. It just is.

But I love this tiny person more than I thought was possible.

I also love this transformation that my sister has gone through, first with being pregnant and now as a full-fledged mother. She’s had motherly instincts all along, being the oldest of three girls, she’s watched over me and our younger sister for years. But now she’s the mother of her own child and motherhood agrees with her.

I hope to be as involved with my little Vera Rose as often as I can. Taking on the role of a tia has also changed me, there aren’t many children in my life. Aside from the many children I see when I work as a birthday party coordinator at the museum. Working there as giving me a soft spot for kids, but being an aunt is completely different. Especially, since this is my sister’s baby. I can’t express enough how warm and fuzzy I feel. My heart melts with every smile and fart this little person makes. I can only imagine how I’ll feel when I have a child.

I can’t wait to hold and inhale her tomorrow!!! They weren’t kidding, babies smell so good, new and like the color pink. That’s right, if the color pink had a smell it would be new babies.

~Planner Loves~

plannerthumbnail

I’m sure everyone in the planner community has discovered these new Recollections planners. They are available only at Michael’s and they are adorable.

I am in love with them mine. But there are a few cons as well as the pros, I made a video that mostly just went over all of the things that I love about the planner and then went over a few other planner goodies that I got for the new planner. Clear stamps anyone? I absolutely love clear stamps.

Here are a few cons I failed to mention in the vlog.

  • Misaligned rings:

With most ringed binders ring gaps are a problem. I checked all the mint binders and chose the one with the less ring flaws. I advised you to look through them as well before purchasing. However, gaps are to be expected…especially with cheaper option binders .

  • Laying down flat:

Now, this is easily fixed with time. You will have to train it, not a huge deal though.

  • Pen loop:

It was mentioned, but sort of glossed over. I would have preferred it to be elastic so it would fit any pen, but it’s too large and your pen might fall out.

At the moment, these are the only ones I feel are the main cons. I haven’t owned it long enough to discover more. I’ll keep you updated.
