Carry it With You

So I’ve had the song, Dog Days Are Over, stuck in my head already for 3 days straight. I’ve been playing it on repeat and now I plan to get it stuck in your head as well. Mwahahaha!!! But it’s a good song. I love the music video for it. Florence is dressed in a pretty dress and then as the song progresses she resembles a Japanese kabuki actress. My favorite parts are her arm movements in the beginning and then the chorus. I actually have no idea what it’s about, but I like it and the music video so I hope you enjoy it.

So the other day I found out that my high school boyfriend knocked up his girlfriend. That sounds weird out loud. I met him when I was 16 and we dated on and off again and then when I turned 18 it became more serious. Our relationship ended when I turned 19 and that was that. We talked a bit over the years but we were never really “friends”. Can one really be friends with an ex? Anyway, so the girl he dated after me didn’t last very long and I have no idea how long he’s been in a relationship with his current girlfriend but I’m assuming he’s happy. I’m not bothered by this I’m just really shocked. Not by his ability to impregnate just by the idea of him having a child and becoming a father. It’ s just so weird. 0.0 So much time has passed and the boy I knew is long gone. I haven’t spoken to him in ages but we aren’t on bad terms. He was my first boyfriend, the first boy I ever kissed, ect. ect. It’s weird but I’m happy that he’s happy and I wish him and his growing family all the best.

So over at Lazy Explorers, Chloe is hosting an amazing blog hop along with three other great bloggers.  Click the banner above to get to the main the entry and check it out yourself. I’ve already found a bunch of great bloggers thanks to this.

That is weird. I get how you feel, a lot of my friends from high school (and an ex boyfriend) are all getting married and/or having children. I’m really happy for them, but I’m in such a different place in my life, it just creeps me out to see these things happening to people my age that I know. But oh, well.

@Kristen, It’s so weird. I feel like I’m not living my life correctly or something. But I’m happy being husbandless and childless at the moment. XD

Oh gosh, I just heard that song on pandora in my search of new music (which surprisingly is mostly artist from the UK) and I couldn’t stop listening to it.

Whoa, I bet that is weird. You were with the person and know them personally so I know it must be weird to know that something like that can happen. Again, you’re so mature to be happy for him. You’re a different class of girl because I know lots of others that wouldn’t think twice about their ex’s happiness.

@Joy, Yeah this song is just so damn catchy. I love it.
Well, we were so young when I we dated and now that I’m older I can honestly say that I wish him and his family all the best.

I don’t think it is usually possible to be friends with an ex – there’s a reason why you couldn’t stay together, after all. Some people do it but I prefer not to.

@Robin, Yeah, not usually. I think it just depends on the people and how much you liked each other.

Don’t feel bad about bus dude; he probably just didn’t take you seriously or figured his winsome charm would change your mind. I’m surprised the topic came up.

As for guys and girls being friends-one of my best friends is a guy. I actually have a few guy friends, but since I had a boyfriend for most of the time it’s hard to say if anything could have developed. Also, my best guy friend has a lady…but my single friends seem cool enough. I certainly don’t want anything either.

You need this time. I’m so glad you’re aware of that and not pushing anything for yourself!!

Also, exes…yeah. That. STILL dealing with that. I thought the whole “cut them out completely” thing was mean…but I’m still arguing with mine over a month after we broke up. I wish I’d taken the ignore advice.

Yeah, guys are so weird. It’s difficult when you like them and then it’s difficult when you don’t like them. But they are the reason relationships and friendships are so difficult. Why can’t they just enjoy things instead of over thinking them?

And no worries about which entry it’s under. Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

@Ginger, I always cut my exes off – just to avoid weird drama with my next relationship. You never know!
