~Book Haul~ Jan. to Feb.

Here’s my belated Jan/Feb book haul, it has been in the works for awhile now and I finally had time to film it. I had the camera zoomed in way too close, I usually like to have the bookcase framed differently. I dunno, I was off. But like Audrey mentioned in her Spring Break entry, I too think videos add a little something extra to the blog.

Anywho, here’s a list of the books I mentioned in the video!

What books have you recently purchased? Can you read more than one book, switching between them? I’m curious to know your book buying rules as well.

Thanks for reading

    All those books sound great. I’m especially interested in Fishbowl now. The story sounds really different!

    I love Stardust. The edition I own is the simple black one with the title and some stars on it. Definitely much nicer than the film cover could ever be. I wish they wouldn’t mix the film and book by doing that. It makes people think the film came first which is so annoying in my opinion.

    Happy reading!

    @Amy, I agree!
    I don’t usually like film covers. I get why they do it, but if I wanted the movie cover I’d buy the movie. XD

    I haven’t started Fishbowl yet, but I’m excited to start it.

    Thanks, happy reading to you too!

    I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned. Maybe I’ll read them once I see some of the titles at a bookstore. Hehe. Yesterday, I went to a book shop and picked three books but my limited budget didn’t allow me so I chose a book about the Nazi occupation while debating myself if I should go for a book about crime. Humpty Dumpty was murdered and it was published by Penguin Books so who wouldn’t love that, huh? At the end, I only bought one book yesterday but this afternoon, I went back and I just have to buy the Humpty Dumpty story. Hahaha! Basically, this is where my impulsive behavior takes place. 😀

    Happy reading! <3

    @Augustin Ra, Impulsive book buying, I know it too well.
    This haul is the result of that.
    Humpty Dumpty was Murdered sounds interesting, I haven’t read enough mystery books,

    Thanks and happy reading to you as well. <3

    These books sound pretty neat – I’d definitely pick one up from the bookstore but I haven’t gotten around to finishing the book I started reading in January 🙁

    @Eena, Yeah, I haven’t been reading enough to get new books in the coming months, so I’ll try to read these before doing another book haul. I’ve decided to combine months from now on instead of doing a book haul each month. Books, right? Love them! XD

    omg i’m so jealous! i haven’t been able to haul books since i’m currently facing financial problem. the last book i purchased was michael faudet’s dirty pretty things. i have a lot of books i want to buy but yeah, for now i guess i’ll settle down with epubs. i love paperbacks more and i used to pledge to read only the printed words but that makes me read less and way slower so yeah, until recently i told myself to suck it up and use epubs first. at least for now.

    speaking of books, neil gaiman’s stardust is also in my to-read list!

    @Elisa L., Oh, ebooks are not bad. I prefer physical books, but I don’t pledge as a way to say that ebooks are in anyway bad. They are just another way to enjoy reading, so they definitely come in handy when budgets are small or when hardcovers are the only thing available at the moment and you just HAVE to read that new book. XD

    And yes, my impulsive book buying gets out of hand every now and then, so I won’t be doing another book haul anytime soon. And I’ll probably just do it every few months…depending on how many books I read. 🙂

    @Kimmy, i don’t know how much books cost in your country but here, it can cost me $15 and more so yeah, it’s expensive (even though you may thing $15 isn’t expensive) ^^;;
    i love physical books more too but i realized i can’t always wait for the budget to come for me to purchase physical books since that makes me read less :))

    @Elisa L., It’s about that…sometimes more for newer books. I love shopping used book stores though. However, I have a membership at Barnes & Noble so I get a discount. But still, books are very expensive.
