Inside Kimmy's Mind » Currently Creative

Currently Creative

Kellie over at Give a Girl a Blog started a really cute Currently segment over at her blog. So naturally, I decided to take part in it as well. šŸ˜€ She is one of my favorite scrapbookers. I’m always in the mood to create after visiting her blog and her current post totally inspired me. So here I am reporting what I’m currently working on…or attempting to work on. >.<

  • Fiction Writing: It’s been awhile since I’ve worked on any fiction stories and I have to have one emailed to my group members by Thursday. It’s our first exercise for class and it’s over hidden desires. Basically we have to write about a character who does something bad and gains no sympathy from the reader. I’m actually sort of struggling at the moment and staring at a blank document. It has to have a middle, beginning, and ending. Like stories usually do, but I’m horrible at ending my stories. So hopefully I can change that about my writing. *sidenote- I interviewed my first author over at Gulf Coast, I was nervous because my editor asked me if I wanted to do an interview and asked me to email him five of my best questions and he would edit if need be. He didn’t alter my questions at all. XD I felt rather good about this.*

  • More writing: I have an introduction to write up for my Literary Studies class. Shouldn’t take too long, but I’m supposed to write about where I thought I would be at my current age when I was 16. This will take some time to recall who I was at 16…. -.-
  • Reading: So I’m taking two lit classes and that requires me to read…a lot. So my first book is Saturday by Ian McEwan and this is for my Contemporary Novel class. I’m reading it on my Nook, it’s rather strange to read a book in this format.
  • Knitting: So I’ve been working on this basket weave scarf already for awhile. I just can’t seem to finish it fast enough. I want to get it done before the weather changes. It’s actually still cold where I live and I’m just afraid it will warm up before I manage to finish it. I wanna use it!!! >.<
  • Crafty Cards: On the side, I’ve been thinking about cards that I want to make. In my last post I showed off the new stamps I bought. I’m excited to start making those and I intend to use my sewing machine and sew a nice border around the edges. XD I should have thought about that sooner.

So I have a lot of work to get done but this is what I’m currently working on. This semester is going to be really busy, but it’s nice having a schedule to follow again…fast forward a bit and I probably will be stressed but I’m going to enjoy being stress free for now. Tomorrow night the weirdos and I will be attending another nerd event. Pokepalooza!!!! That’s right, a night of all things Pokemon. I’m horrible at battling and training. But I still have a lot of fun playing the game. It should be a great night so I’m looking forward to it. A night with adorable gay men…what more could a girl ask for? XDĀ  But first I must return to doing some homework. -.- Hopefully I beat this lazy writer syndrome.

Thanks for reading. šŸ™‚

You are doing some fun things. I wish I had taken a lit class or two while I was in college.

@Robin, Yeah, I enjoy the lit classes, only I shouldn’t have waited to take them all the same time. Taking two lit classes in the same semester is brutal. >.<

@Tracy B, I plan to, as soon as I get it done. Only my hands have been cramping up more often lately. :/

@Angel, Crafting is so much fun. I was never into making cards but then I started my stamp obsession and now I love it. My SMASH*book has really open the doors to scrapbooking and card making as well.
    Thanks for reading/commenting. šŸ˜€
