More than Feng Shui
So this is my last summer spending it at my parent’s house and after 16 years of living in this house I’ve finally gotten rid of a bunch of junk. Seven trash bags later andΒ I hardly recognize my room.
I haven’t been updating nearly as much as I would like to. I again have several blog drafts started that I’ve yet to finish. But here I am now attempting to update and things just keep getting in the way. Recently I have been scouring the streets of Houston for an apartment. That’s right, my first apartment! Don’t let any one fool you into believing that apartment hunting is an easy thing to do, it might be if you have an excessive amount of money to work with. -.-Β But I’m sure even then it is not a fun thing to do and it is even harder because I’m home for the summer, so the past two weekends we have been making trips to Houston and looking at different apartments. This is very exciting, but the hunt has made me very anxious. I’m hoping once it becomes official this anxiousness will subside and all that will be left is determination and excitement. My younger sister will move in with me at the end of September so we’ve been looking at different blogs on how to decorate and organize small spaces. Also, the apartment complex will paint accent walls, so I’m hoping they have colors that fit both my sister and me. Here’s a floor plan of the apartment….of course ours could be flipped. But this was how the model was.
So I’m a very impatient person, which is why I become anxious in the first place. Among the other things that I’m waiting for are my new glasses. A couple weeks ago I had an eye exam, and if you’ve read my blog for awhile then you know that optometrists, more like the technicians, are my enemies and that the only good thing that come from eye exams are new glasses. I’ve had my current glasses already for….well I can’t exactly remember for how long but it has been awhile. Kat and I picked out some new frames a week ago and now we have to wait until they are ready. All of this waiting is killing me, at least I have statistics to keep me busy. -.- Pffft. More like knitting, thank goodness for knitting and Bob’s Burgers. Instead of reading all the books I’ve been saving, I’ve been watching Bob’s Burgers and Portlandia over and over again while I knit. I should read before I run out of free time. >.< That and update my blog, I’ve been in a blog funk and I’m hoping I’m getting over it. Blogging is one my favorite things to do.
Song of the day- Mr. Bright Eyes by Rebecca Ferguson. I also listen to Pandora while knitting and blogging and this song came up and now I can’t stop listening to it. [audio:http://numb.honey-vanity.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/RebeccaFerguson-MrBrightEyesAudi.mp3]
I’m off to make a smoothie, I should study seeing how class was canceled tonight and all. Motivation!!!!
Thanks for reading and commenting.

Been there…looking for a place to rent is NOT easy! I hope you can find a good one soon. Congratulations on getting your own place. π

@Robin, Thank you. Yeah, it’s been pretty tough but I’m excited to actually make it official.

Like always, it’s so good to see a new post from you!!
Coincidentally, I’m also in the process of trying to find a new apartment (but then again, when am I ever NOT looking for a new apartment?)! It’s never easy. You are very lucky, though, that your sister will be moving in with you. Having roommates that you don’t know is the WORST!
I wish you luck!
PS: I scored BIG TIME in the clearance bin at Michael’s the other day. So don’t be alarmed when you open your next letter and you are assaulted by an enormous amount of color and excessive crafty-ness. π

@Kristen, I was so excited to receive your letter. Go crafty you!
As soon as I’m done with my final, I’ll be sending you a reply letter.
I hope you’re able to find a new apartment without any problems, and yes I’m so lucky. I don’t think I would be able to live with strangers. >.< She's my sister, so we've always had to share one thing or another. I'm super excited!!!

You seem a lot like I am, although probably some years younger.
I am wrapping up apartment hunting, too, and this was the toughest one. I’ve been burnt and I depend on apartmentraings . com maybe TOO much, but I’d hate to get no warning. {Hopefully that site doesn’t wreck your hopes and dreams, eep.} Good luck!
I can’t wait to nest again (we’re just staying with someone for now, having moved a long distance during a rough time) and I like this post inspiration you have. I fear people stalking me (or judging even; leaving my favorite areas of MA has many compromises) because they learn where I live from blogging / social networks, so I’ve been debating with myself about how to blog the experience of our new/upcoming home. Fooooo, breathe me. π
By the way, I love all the graphics and full customizations you and your sisters have. One can’t over design or over customize a site! I didn’t notice yet who does the designing, but it seems like it’s from the eyes of all one human (one of you). Curious to find out who, for no great reason, and sorry if I’m wrong there. π
Again, good luck and enjoy your new home.

@Elle, Thanks for reading and commenting. And Mija is the designer. Without her, I wouldn’t be as inspired to update my blog. It encompasses my personality straight on and I love it.
I don’t intend to share where I actually live. But sharing my favorite shops and restaurants would definitely be something I’d be willing to do. I’m often told that many people don’t know what to do when visiting Houston. There are so many great areas that deserve the spotlight. π Congrats on your move as well though.
