My baby sister turns 18 today, I cannot believe it. She is 18 today and a high school graduate tomorrow. >.< So weird.

I still remember when she was two, I thought she was the cutest baby in the world. And before my fear of holding babies kicked in I would always want to hold her. Of course I was too small to actually hold her, so I had to make do with sitting next to her. lol But as we grew older we became inseparable. When Mija went to junior high she went through “the you are younger than me and far less cool, so don’t talk to me” phase.  So thankfully I had Kat to keep me company. Even when I went to junior high I would still come home and hang out with her. I guess I’m just a far more superior older sister than Mija. XD jk I did however become a protective big sister, and this makes me want to kick all the boys in the balls to keep them away from her.  (I have no idea where she got the boy-crazed gene from) I know she is getting older but its hard to see her that way when I just see my baby sister. But its something I’m working on. -.- It will just take some time, and until then I have the right to give any boy the death glare.

So Kat will be going to BC in the fall, and then after a semester or two she will transfer to Houston and enroll in A.I. (The Art Institute) She is going for culinary and I hope she becomes a master pastry chef.  I want her to enjoy her last summer vacation, because once you graduate high school, those just disappear. >.< I hope she has fun while in college and I hope she doesn’t have to deal with stupid stuff like I do.

Words of wisdom for Kat:

• Pace yourself, don’t let yourself get overwhelmed
• Do your best
• Try not to procrastinate- its not helpful and you’ll end up in a bind so do everything early.
• Ask for help- don’t be afraid to ask for help, I was specifically designed to help YOU. That’s what sisters are for so just ask. <3
• Remember, just because you are 18 now doesn’t mean you can do as you please. You’re just a year older, nothing else has changed. Luis and Cynthia are still your parents. Meaning they still make the rules.
  
• Don’t let anything or ANYONE get in your way. You have goals and I want you to accomplish those goals and be happy.

1. I love her every day but since her birthday landed on a Thursday this year why not include her in this list. Kathy!!! My little sister she is 18 today!!! Happy Birthday Kat!!!!!

Everywhere I turn couples are either getting married or expecting a child, I’m assuming because it is Spring time. And this is just the designated season to marry your significant other and to reproduce.

In the blog universe two of my favorite bloggers have also embraced the season of marriage and baby making. I have mentioned this blog before, she inspires me with every post.I hope to one day make my blog as interesting as hers is.  Her and her husband are the cutest couple, their vintage style is just so picture perfect.  I also enjoy reading this blog, I love how her and her husband collaborate on her blog. He takes such amazing pictures of her. So adorable. Its what I hope for in a relationship, working together to create something. Meeting someone that not only supports but inspires me as well.  Anyway, they are expecting their first child.

In my real world, I’ve mention my best friend having her first baby back in January, and he is still the cutest thing in the world. >.< Such a cute baby, in some pictures he definitely looks like Missy and then in others I think he resembles his dad. Its so weird and amazing all at the same time. I’ve never been a baby person and I’m still not comfortable with holding him but as soon as he is old enough to crawl I might be able to hold him. lol Continuing on, my older sister got engaged a couple of weeks ago. Its pretty exciting, no date has been decided as of yet. But I’m hoping its not too far away. It will probably be in a year or so. Usually when a family member gets married, I dread going to the wedding. I’m not a fan of them. But when its someone I truly love then I know I will enjoy myself. I’m already planning on a toast to give during the dinner. It’s my older sister so I have plenty of words to share, maybe some embarrassing stories or two as well. XD

I’m looking forward to the wedding, I hope the plans go smoothly and she doesn’t turn into a bridezilla. XD Beause she can be pretty scary when things aren’t done in the way she wants them to be done. And I’ll actually have to do what she says since its her wedding. -.- Yeah I’m looking forward to that part. But in all seriousness, she shouldn’t be too difficult. lol But I know she won’t be one of those brides that pick the most ugly bridesmaid dresses for us to wear. But I’m more excited to see her try on a lot of different wedding gowns.  So weird my sister is engaged. >.<

• New Girl- an upcoming tv series starring Zoey Deschanel, I love her

• The Goblin King Jareth from the movie Labyrinth played by The gorgeous David Bowie. He is amazing as himself, but I really love this character.

  

• Honeycomb book shelves- I find these shelves absolutely adorable and want some of my own.

• Baileyblue dress- I needed a dress for my little sisters confirmation, so I went shopping for one and and had no luck in finding anything that I would be remotely comfortable in. Finally we went to JcPenny’s and I found this dress. However mine is gray and I wore it differently compared to the model in the picture. But I love it. The only thing its missing is pockets.

• Long John donuts- :9 I WANT ONE NOW!!! The kind with the yellow custard not the white whipped cream kind.

Maybe I shouldn’t do food anymore on these things. Also I should start walking around the block from now on. Just looking at this picture can make you gain weight. >.<

Another entry of things I love….I actually keep meaning to vlog but finals are next week and this week has been packed full. >.< I feel like a ball of negative energy, I really hope I pass my cinema and sociology finals.

1. Sour Patch Jelly Beans! I just got a ton of Easter candy and this is a new favorite. I shouldn’t be eating it because its not good for my braces but they are sooooo yummy! :9

   

2. The wonderful Mika- He is soooooo adorable!! >.<

3. Fuji Polaroid Camera-Sooooo freaking cute, yet soooooooo freaking expensive. >.<

4. Orchids have to be my favorite flowers. I love drawing them and painting them using watercolor.

5. I love love this robot fabric- I want to make so many things with it. >.<

Another entry of Things that I love!!! I know it is rather exciting. XD

1. I just bought this book, and now I want to just stay in my room with my sewing machine and get started. It is the perfect instructional book, and it has gotten my creative juices flowing. (that saying kind of grosses me out) >.<

2. Wooden Drawing Hands- I want one sooooooooo bad. Not even just to use it as a drawing aid. But I just find them so cool that I want one in my room. Plus I think it would come in handy when taking product pics for Mind-Speaks.

3. Border Collie- <3 I saw this one at the park when we went to the Indie Book Festival and I couldn’t help but want one. Mija managed to catch him on cam such a cutie. (the pic above isn’t the same puppy on cam) lol

4. berripop !!!! I know I’ve mention this numerous times, but I seriously cannot get enough of this yogurt. It is so freaking delicious.

5. This Eco-friendly brand- I just bought a package of three notebooks from Target. So I gave one to each of my sisters. Look here.  I should try to be more Eco-friendly. >.<

I have started playing Pokemon White recently on my ds. And I must say I’m impressed.

I tried playing Pokemon pearl and gold but it just did not catch my fancy. My sister Mija and Jo Bro are already pretty far in the game. Also they both caught the legendary Pokemon Victini. The little bastard just won’t stay in the freaking Poke ball. So now I must level up so I can catch the cheeky bastard.

Cute little thing no? Well anyway, speaking of DS I’m sure you have seen the ads for the new 3DS. -.- I am NOT happy about this. I don’t even enjoy watching movies in 3D let alone playing games with that option. We went to Gamestop to see what the big deal was about and its nothing. Besides the teal color, I have no interest in the 3DS.(ok minus the game street fighter) I played it and it  was fun, as long as you keep the ridiculous 3D option off you will enjoy the game, however the buttons aren’t as comfortable as the DSLite. But that is just my opinion.

I feel like the DS XL JUST came out and they are already bringing out the 3Ds? WHY?!!! I think Nintendo is catching the apple bug and is just trying to keep up. My main concern is, does this mean that the old format games were put out will be obsolete? I keep getting mixed signals on Google, some say the game card won’t even fit in the older DS models. >.< Sooooooo annoying. Why can’t they just keep it the same. (DUH THEY WANT MORE MONEY) Which I don’t blame them. New model obviously means updated card designs as well. So older DS models won’t be able to play the new games made for 3DS. :/ SUCKS!!!!

Yes this entire entry was about video games and Pokemon. -.-  This is what a college student thinks about. Serious stuff. >.<  Next entry will actually be about serious stuff…I swear.

Spring break is over. >.< I really don’t want it to end!!!!

So we went home this weekend to drop off the brat…I mean my loving sister Kat. So when we arrived Saturday afternoon, we saw the presents mom had bought us. She bought each of us a suitcase and overnight bag. So freaking adorable, I can’t get over how cute it is. So we went back to JcPenny and she bought herself one as well to match us. Hers has a pink floral print on it and both Kat and I have dots in our favorite colors while Mija’s is blue with wavy lines. I always thought Mija was the matching freak, but she had to get it from someone. Which is totally not a bad thing, I like when things match as well. And when you have two sisters that enjoy most of the same things as you do; buying things in 3?s becomes habit. But of course they have to be different in some way, like color or pattern. lol

I’ve never actually owned luggage before now, and I’ve been wanting an overnight bag for the longest time. I love the shape of it and its similar to the Paperchase ones I’m so in love with. So I’ve been enjoying my time at home, so much so that I wish this up coming week was my spring break so I could stay home for a week. >.<

Already back in Houston and I miss my parents and Kat. Having Kat here for a week was really fun, it ended up feeling normal.. plus she would cook things for us and that is always great. I’m glad I get to come again this weekend. Of course that means going through a week of classes first. -.- Sigh suck it up I know.

It is Thursday morning. And my spring break is almost over.  I hate the feeling when something you like comes to an end.

I know I should make the most of things and enjoy it while it lasts but it is sort of hard to enjoy something when I know it is almost over. Its the same feeling I get when I’m on the last page of a really good book. I try to read really slowly just so I can have another day with it. I knew this week would go by in the blink of an eye, so this isn’t a surprise. Kat is here with us this week. We went to the Galleria on Saturday and Kat bought some outfits. She also bought me this great journal which I’m sure I’ve mentioned in a previous post. Its from the paperchase brand that I love so much. And the funny thing about it is that Mija noticed a flaw on the bottom right typewriter. A graphic screw up and now it bothers her. It makes me laugh, because I’m curious to know how this screw up occurred. They basically cut and copied a bit of the space bar and scooted it up to replace a missing key or something. But why the space bar? They could have just cut around another key and then used black as a shadow to cover around it or something. She also bought herself a small notebook from the same brand. Its so cute and it really suits her.  On Tuesday I took her on a small tour of my campus and then we had lunch with Mija and Jody at NRP. She really wanted to have the metro experience. We went on 4 buses that day which is the normal total of buses I take on a normal school day. She said it was fun, and it is fun when you have someone to ride it with you. But if you are going by yourself then its not so much as fun as …annoying. Especially when your bus decides to be late that day. But anyway, so after lunch Jody drove us to Berripop and Kat bought us some frozen yogurt. I am so addicted to this stuff and now so is Kat. Its been awhile since I’ve had a chance to enjoy some so that was a nice treat. Kat got watermelon with granola and kiwi and I chose strawberry yogurt with strawberries and cheesecake bits. :9 So yummy I’m craving it again.

So far the rest of the week we haven’t done anything besides sleep late and in. I have a 5 page essay I should be writing right now but I just want to lay down and be lazy. I wanted to go to F.I.T but I don’t think we will have time to go this week. -.- sucks. Also Saturday morning my dad is in a jeep show, he gets to show off Midnight to the community. I don’t remember the make I just know it is an older jeep that he bought and fixed up. Its his pride and joy, he has put a lot of time and money into fixing it up.  Ok so now I should start doing my homework or I’m gonna end up doing it last minute and its due on Tuesday.

So Kat and I went on an adventure the other day. Just the two of us. I even woke up early which was weird, regular lazy Kim would’ve just wanted to stay in bed. But again as I said in the last post, the bug man was coming to spray.

Dad said it would take 2 hours but it didn’t seem to take that long. But I still had fun with Kat, a vlog will be up later to show what we did. I just have to convert the video files. :/ My new handycam is amazing. It just has a video codex that premiere hates. -.- But luckily the files work ok in movie maker. So I edit a bit there and then publish them on mm and then drag those files into to premiere to do some final editing. And hopefully the playback quality isn’t compressed or choppy. Anyway, so Kat and I decided to try out the mini metro here. And we went to The Local for lunch, it was great I had a lot of fun. Then we just walked around town for a bit. And then Kat got tired. -.- So we walked to the park and she took an hour nap. She said she felt like a hobo sleeping in the grass like that. XD Silly Kathy. While she slept I just played ds until the battery died anyway. Then after she woke up we took some more pictures and then walked to the orthodontist for Kat’s appointment. And that was the end of the adventure, it was a lot of fun and I’m glad we did it.

Thursday Cate came over and we played Just Dance again. I love hanging out with Cate she is one of the few friends from High School that I still see and talk to. She is moving to Galveston and transferring to UTMB so I won’t get to see her every time I visit home. But we plan to Skype every now and then.
